On Thursday night September 7, a series of severe thunderstorms roared through the area. During one of them, a home on Fieldstone Lane in the North Whitfield section of Spring Township, was struck with the result of a fire igniting in the ceiling and walls. TSFR Engine 85, Wyo FD Ladder 79, along with our mutual aid partners from Western Berks Fire (Ladder 18, Engine 18-1), Reading FD (Engine 3), Shillington (Engine 36), and Mohnton (57 RIT), plus Western Berks EMS (Squad 650, Medic 6511) responded.

First in E85 reported smoke in the home and began searching for the source, assisted by L79. L18 and E3 members searched the second floor and attic. Fire was eventually discovered in the ceiling and wall of the basement and contained. A 5" supply line was laid by E3 and E85
and a 2" attack line was stretched to the front door and L18 provided the aerial to the roof.
