Today at 0800hrs a staple for the fire service at the TSFR has officially retired as Deputy 85. Rick Schartel has spent the last 50 years of his life in the fire service helping to protect, serve, and train many along the way. Since the 2002 inception of the Township of Spring Fire, Rick has been a chief officer with the Township the whole way. Rick’s calm voice on the other end of the radio when chaos was happening will be greatly missed by many here and in the local area. We thank you Rick for all that you have done for the fire service and for all that you’ll continue to do! We hope you enjoy retirement but don’t forget the coffees always on for ya here at station!
