Recently, it has come to our attention that certain households in our area have received mailed requests for monetary donations from an organization known as the Volunteer Firefighter Alliance of Houston TX. The monies are reportedly to be provided to support volunteer firefighter recruitment, awareness, fire prevention and similar causes. We are not familiar with this group although they claim to be supported by a variety of organizations including Home Dept, WalMart and Shriners Hospital.

As such, we are not encouraging or discouraging the handling of this request as each sees fit. However, we want to be very clear that this organization IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH TOWNSHIP OF SPRING FIRE RESCUE. TSFR is supported by the Township in the form of a fire tax, and the Commonwealth through Volunteer Firefighter Relief funding.
