On 7/17/2024 at approximately 9:05 PM, TSFR Engine 85 was dispatched on a mutual aid assignment, assisting our neighbors from the Western Berks FD for an automatic fire alarm in a commercial building on Corporate Blvd in South Heidelberg Township.

Upon arrival, crews had nothing showing and started their investigation. Upon gaining access to the interior of the building, they found a smoke condition inside. WBFD Command immediately upgraded the alarm to a full structural assignment, summoning additional resources.

During the investigation of the source of the smoke, a small fire was located in the production area, and quickly extinguished by fire service personnel. However, due to the building's size and extent of the smoke condition, units remained on scene for an extended period of time conducting ventilation operations.
