On Friday night November 15, TSFRS was dispatched to assist the City of Reading on a 2nd alarm structure fire at a paper mill on Laurel Street. Rescue Engine 85 was dispatched as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) on the 2nd alarm assignment. RE85 responded and stood fast until put to work, ascending via aerial ladder to the roof of the building to assist with removal of roof covering.

Meanwhile back home, a standby crew reported to the station to staff it in the absence of the duty crew. During that time, a structural investigation assignment was sent to assist Wyomissing on Deborah Drive for an odor of smoke in a residence. Engine 85 covered the call and assisted Wyo FD L79. Nothing was found at address and the odor was believed to be area-wide, possibly from a neighboring fireplace.
