On Wednesday evening, November 20 TSFR Engine 85, Wyomissing FD Ladder 79, Western Berks FD Ladder18 and Engine 18-1, Shillington Engine 36, Kenhorst Engine 69-1, Mohnton Sta. 57 RIT, Western Berks EMS Medics 6511and 6522, were dispatched to a residence on Linda Lane in the Wilshire section of Spring Township for a possible structure fire, reported to be an oven fire.

Rescue Engine 85 responded with a crew of five in place of E85 from a preplanning exercise at the Reading Hospital. While companies were enroute, WBFD Deputy 18-2 arrived on location reporting the fire to be out and contained to the oven with no extension or smoke inside the dwelling. Accordingly, the assignment was reduced to Stations 18, 85 and 79. RE85 and L79 arrived on location and assisted L18 with ventilation due to the odor. DC18-2 held command until the arrival of TSFR Deputy 85.

There was no extension beyond the oven and power was secured to the appliance. When all tasks were completed, the property was returned to the owner, and the companies were released accordingly.
