TSFR personnel along with our neighbors from Western Berks and Cumru Twp Fire Depts. recently completed a 12 hour course on elevator rescue presented by RFD Fire Marshal Jeremy Searfoss. The class consisted of both lecture and field work on working elevators. Skills and evolutions covered included accessing hoistways thru the landing doors, opening the car doors on disabled elevators, accessing and removing occupants if needed, and manipulating elevator cars thru use of both electrical and mechanical controls.
