Late Monday morning January 27, TSFR Rescue 85 and Western Berks EMS Ambulance 6515 were dispatched for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries on Springmont Drive in northern Spring Township. Additional information from dispatch was for a trash truck into a dwelling with structural damage, and the occupants were out of the vehicle. While companies were responding, dispatch advised that the police were on location and were reporting no injuries, and but requested that Fire continue in for structural damage. Communications then reported receipt of additional calls reporting power out in the area and that callers were reporting a burning odor. Accordingly, Chief 85 requested Wyomissing FD Ladder L79 and Western Berks FD Engine 18-2 be added to the assignment.
