| A pair of vehicle crashes were handled by TSFRS resources on Saturday May 2.
The first call occurred in the late afternoon on US 222 Northbound at the Spring Ridge exit, as Rescue 85, Wyomissing FD Ladder 79, and Western Berks EMS Medic 6511 were alerted to a possible motorcycle accident with injuries. R85 arrived and discovered one rider down and being tended to by STPD officers and bystanders. Members from R85 and L79 took over patient care under the direction of the M6511 medics. L79 provided blocking and Fire Police isolated the work area by routing traffic over the interchange to north of the incident scene. When the patient was placed in the medic unit, the fire units took up and returned except for fire police who maintained traffic control until released by Twp police.
Later, just before midnight that night, Station 85 was requested by STPD to a motor vehicle accident on Martins Road to assist with fluids and debris down. Accordingly Rescue Engine 85 reported and once on location, applied oil dry and removed debris as requested by STPD. When the work was complete, the company was released while Fire Police remained to assist with traffic. |
